New Things

Isaiah 43:19. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Dear Friends:

Luling is certainly no wilderness. The Salt Flat is no desert. Plum Creek and the San Marcos River already bring water to a vibrant and fertile land. Even so, God is doing a new thing in our lives and we hope in your lives too. Let us pray for each other as this newness unfolds.

From around the Rio Texas Annual Conference, among our friends and family everywhere, and especially here at FUMC, Seguin, we are humbled by the continuous flow of encouragement and joy for us and for our new church. People are earnestly praying for us, in the sure and certain hope that the church will prosper and bear much fruit. And the joy that we feel is squeezing out the sadness of leaving. Janice and I are excited about heading out to Luling and seeing what God has in mind for all of us.

We know that you are experiencing some sadness of your own as Madeline and David are leaving. They have brought a wonderful ministry to the church. That ministry should be celebrated and I know that you are doing just that.

I plan to be in the church office working next week and you are sure invited to come by and have a cup of coffee. My first Sunday in the pulpit is July 2. Let’s fill our church up and praise our God together!

Joy in Christ!
